Professor Guy Richards is Academic Head and Professor of Critical Care at Wits. He is Director of Critical Care at CMJAH. He received his FCP in 1985 and PhD in 1992
He has twice been the Co-Chairman of Critical Care and SATS congresses and has been invited to speak at numerous meetings nationally and internationally. He has been awarded best research paper, presentation and publication on a number of occasions at SATS and CCSSA congresses. He has authored 11 book chapters and 138 peer reviewed scientific papers. His RG score on Researchgate is 40.4 and his research has been cited 2057 times. His “h index” is 25.
He has taken an active role in Guideline Working Groups of the SATS, and with the Nesibhopo group which devises critical Care guidelines.
He is Chairman of the P&T Committee at CMJAH and is chairman of the Gauteng Provincial formulary committee and is a member of the Tertiary and quaternary Essential Medicines List QEML. He is a reviewer for multiple Critical Care, Pulmonology, and medical journals
